Claines Division
Born in Worcester, Mel qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Leicestershire and has lived in Claines, for twenty years. Six generations of Mel's family have lived in Claines and Mel will do her utmost to look after this special place, for generations to come.
Mel knows, cares and understands Claines and Worcester as a City. Mel has been a City Councillor for just over 18 months and has achieved, getting Worcester City Council to declare a Biodiversity Emergency and to adopt Not Every Disability is Visible.
Campaigning brought back the Saturday 37 bus service and saved the "Donkey Field" from inappropriate development. Mel is keen to build on this success, being elected as a county councillor, to really improve the county.
Mel's Priorities

Children's Services must be rated Good by Ofsted as an absolute minimum;

Health and Social Care must be rated Good across the service as a minimum;

A Climate Change Emergency must be declared by Worcestershire County Council;

Active travel must be in place with an integrated green infrastructure;

Recycling rates must improve, food waste and refuse, must decrease.
